Apple time

This week in science we discovered that an apple is matter.  As kindergarten scientist, we used our 5 senses to study an apple.  We found a star inside, learned the lifecycle of an apple tree, tasted 3 different  types of apples, graphed our favorite type of apple, made applesauce, tasted a variety of apple products and heard the story of Johnny Appleseed.

First Compliment Party

Yesterday we dressed Mrs. Potatohead.  We have done a fabulous job learning how to be in school. We got several compliments in the hallways and worked really hard in our room to earn each piece of Mrs. Potatohead.  Today we choose a no shoe day party to celebrate getting Mrs. Potatohead dressed.

Busy Time

It has been very busy in our Class and I apologize for the lack of a post the last 2 weeks.
We are now beginning our Guided Reading time.  You should see a red folder coming home with a book.  The red folder will come home 1-2 times a week.  Please take time to spend with your child.  They have worked really hard at school to decode the book.  Plus the book will help with sight words that your child might be struggling to remember.
We have now been introduced to all 35 kindergarten sight words and begin working on mastery of these words.
